I spent a few days on the road last week...
First stop was Auburn on Thursday to see Chelsea :)
We went shopping and to lunch and finished some little "projects" in her super cute apartment!
She wanted a clock...apparently a really big clock that can be seen from the couch which is about 15 feet away! Her bulletin board (that she made two years ago) needed a staple gun and glue gun and she covered a lampshade with fabric left over from the pillows Nicole made for her...now that it is all done and organized she can study Mammalian Physiology and the likes (she is turning into her mom...but don't tell her I said that ;)
Above the cabinets in the kitchen we "stored" some AU serving platters. The one on the left memorializes the wonderful tradition of rolling the trees in Toomer's Corner after winning football games. These beautiful ancient oaks were poisoned last year by a very confused Alabama fan. He thought he was doing some big heroic deed for his favorite team...but school rivalry's do not cross certain lines and all of Alabama mourned over such stupidity... I took this picture on 4/28/2011 the trees had been fenced off but still looked grand...unfortunately the trees have suffered since this picture was taken...
So let's remember them in some of their finer hours...Don't they look beautiful decked out in...white!
After my 24 hours in Auburn, I headed north to Birmingham and Claire! Pop and I babysat for two nights so that Nicole and David could go up to Nashville and visit Katelyn. We had a ball with Claire...we have now nicknamed her Mopsy ;) She loves to color and watched Pop to make sure he was doing it right!! We did all of the things that Claire loves which includes reading books, putting together her 3 piece puzzles, having a tea party, and watching Miss Spider on Nick Jr. Pop introduced her to the art of building a tent using a sheet...
On Saturday morning we took her to the Botanical Gardens...She napped in the car and so it was just like when she was a baby and we took her to the gardens for a little photo shoot...it took a bit for her to wake up and enjoy!
She and Pop both look a bit out of sorts haha!
But they perked up and had a great time...
unfortunately my camera died...
no really this is my life :)
Later the same day we went out to do a little shopping and Claire went on the carousel at the Galleria...she liked it at first:)
We loved our weekend with Claire...but don't you know we were worn out by the time we pulled into Panama City on Sunday evening!
